Once you're happy with your resume, export it in your preferred format. ApplyPilot generates professional, ATS-friendly documents ready for job applications.

Export Formats

We support two industry-standard formats:

PDF: Best for most applications. Maintains exact formatting, universally accepted

DOCX: Use when employers specifically request Word format or for easy editing
Tips
  • PDF is recommended for online applications
  • DOCX is better if you need to make quick edits externally
  • Some older ATS systems work better with DOCX

How to Export

Exporting your resume is simple:

Open your resume in the Resume Engine

Click the 'Download' button in the top right
3
Select your preferred format (PDF or DOCX)
4
The file will download automatically

Check your Downloads folder

Naming Your Files

Exported files follow a professional naming convention: 'FirstName_LastName_Resume.pdf'. This makes your resume easy to identify for recruiters.

Tips
  • Keep the professional naming format
  • Consider adding the company name for targeted applications
  • Avoid special characters in file names

Checking Export Quality

After downloading, always open and review your file:

Check that all text is visible and properly formatted

Verify links are clickable (especially in PDF)

Confirm contact information is correct
4
Test that the file opens without issues

Always review exported files before submitting. Different PDF viewers may display content slightly differently.
