Importing your first resume

Upload your existing resume and let ApplyPilot parse and enhance it.

ApplyPilot can import your existing resume and intelligently parse its contents. This saves you time and gives our AI a starting point for creating tailored versions.

Supported File Formats

We support the most common resume formats:

PDF (.pdf) - Recommended for best parsing accuracy

Microsoft Word (.docx) - Fully supported

Plain Text (.txt) - Basic support
Tips
  • PDF files with selectable text parse most accurately
  • Avoid image-only PDFs (scanned documents)
  • Maximum file size is 10MB

How to Upload

There are several ways to upload your resume:

From the Dashboard: Click 'Upload Resume' in the quick actions

From Resume Engine: Click 'Import Resume' or drag and drop

During Onboarding: You'll be prompted after creating your account

What Happens After Upload

Once you upload your resume, our parsing engine extracts:

Contact information (name, email, phone, address)

Work experience (companies, titles, dates, bullet points)

Education (degrees, institutions, dates)

Skills (technical and soft skills)
5
Certifications and awards

Summary or objective statement

Parsing Accuracy

Our parser uses multiple techniques to ensure accuracy. If confidence is below 60%, we use AI to help interpret complex formats. You can always review and edit the parsed result before saving.

Tips
  • Review the parsed content for accuracy
  • Fix any misidentified sections
  • Add missing information manually if needed

Complex multi-column layouts or heavily designed resumes may require manual corrections.
